About Curtis Allen

Curtis Allen has been turning football players into professional athletes for 15 years through his speed and sports training programs. Working with Elite Sports and Speed Training in Visalia, California, Mr. Allen applies demonstrated training and drills that make his athletes measurably faster and stronger, preparing them to be among the best when they get to combine, pro day, or training camp.

Mr. Allen also has an unmatched background in speed training, an invaluable skill for football players at all levels. An experienced college track coach, he has taken several teams on to win the California state track championship, including College of the Sequoias (2005) and Fresno City College (1999). While serving as head coach at College of the Sequoias, he also won three conference titles, finished first, second and fifth at the widely known regional NorCal meet, and had state meet placings of third and eighth. He also has speed trained several Olympic sprinters, including California state record holder Jerome Avery (100-meter) and Olympic sprinter Josh Norman.

 

Prior to his career training other athletes, Mr. Allen was himself a professional football player, spending four years playing in the Canadian Football League for both Calgary and Saskatchewan. Prior to that, he played at both high school and college levels. While at Fresno State he earned second team all-conference honors as a junior and all-Pacific Coast Athletic Association honors as a senior, and played in the 1985 Japan Bowl. Mr. Allen holds a Master’s in Sports Science from the U.S. Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, and a Bachelor’s degree in criminology from Fresno State University.Olympic sprinter Josh Norman.
